Questions fiduciaries ask

Straight answers.

If your question isn't here, email support and a person answers it — usually the same day, always within one business day.

Product

Do you file the accounting for me?

No. FiduKit prepares the packet; you review it, sign it, and file it with the court. We're document-preparation software — never your attorney, and never a substitute for one.

What if it doesn't balance?

Then you can't download it — by design. FiduKit pinpoints the discrepancy down to the transaction and walks you to the fix. The packet unlocks only when charges equal credits to the penny, so what reaches the examiner already survives the first check they run.

I'm a family conservator, not a professional — can I use this?

Yes. Prepare the accounting yourself and have your attorney read the finished packet before you sign and file it. We recommend attorney review for complex accountings — a contested estate, unusual assets, or a period with litigation in it. FiduKit does the arithmetic and the form assembly; the judgment calls stay yours.

Can I get my data out?

Yes — always, and at no extra cost. You can export your working papers as CSV (every transaction with its category and schedule assignment) and save an encrypted project file that restores the whole accounting on any computer. Your work is never held hostage by a subscription, because there is no subscription.

What if my bank's statement format isn't supported?

You are never blocked. Whatever the parser can read is kept, the rest you can enter by hand, and the packet still balances and still downloads. Then tell us the bank and statement type — describe the layout, don't send us the statement — and we add the format, usually within a week. Every supported format started as somebody's support email.

What do I need to run it?

A current desktop browser — Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari — and the statement PDFs. Nothing to install and no plugin; your account is created when you buy, and you sign in with a link we email you. It works on a five-year-old office PC; the heavy lifting runs in a background thread so the page never freezes.

Privacy

Is my client's financial data safe?

It never leaves your computer. Statements are parsed inside your browser — zero bytes are uploaded, and you can verify that yourself in your browser's DevTools Network tab while you work. There is no server copy to breach because there is no server copy.

Does an AI read my client's finances?

No — and it can't. There is no AI anywhere in the data path, by design. Parsing and arithmetic are deterministic code running on your machine. Your conservatee's spending never trains a model and never transits anyone's API.

Courts & forms

Which forms do you produce?

The California GC-400 series — the summary of account and its standard and additional schedules — plus the statutory attachments required under Probate Code §2620(c), assembled into one paginated, filing-ready packet.

Does my county accept this?

We fill the statewide Judicial Council GC-400 series forms, which are accepted in all California superior courts. Some counties add local requirements — a local cover sheet, a specific attachment order, extra copies. Check your local rules. The walkthrough on the home page shows a finished packet end to end, so you can see what the software produces and compare it against your court's requirements. If your county wants something we don't produce, email support and it goes on the local-variants list.

Buying

Can I try it before I buy?

No — there is no free preview and no trial. You buy one accounting for $199, and that is when the software opens for it. What you can do first is watch the walkthrough on the home page: it runs a real accounting from statement PDFs through to the finished packet, so you can see exactly what you are buying before you spend anything. If the packet you get isn't usable, the refund policy is the backstop.

What's the refund policy?

If we can't read your statements well enough to build the accounting, tell us and we refund it — no argument, no forms. That is the case worth naming, because it is the one you cannot check before you buy. It is not the only one: the same applies to a packet that isn't usable for any other reason. We'd rather refund a fiduciary than argue with one. See Terms for the exact language, and note that regenerating a corrected or amended accounting costs nothing extra — you are never charged twice for the same accounting.

Is there a subscription or a per-seat fee?

No. $199 per accounting, paid once, up front. No monthly fee, no seats, no upsell tier. Re-runs, corrections and amended versions of that same accounting cost nothing extra.

Still deciding?

The walkthrough on the home page runs a real accounting end to end — every schedule, the cross-foot, the finished packet — so you can see what $199 buys before you spend it.
